Thumbs up TAM 03-30-08 Full Card - 2 Horse Picks Experiment

TAM 03-30-08 Full Card - 2 Horse Picks Experiment

As most of you know, I normally bet 1 hose to win.
Today I'm testing a method and software that I have developed for myself. The premise being, that if I have the winner in the top 2, I can isolate the single pick winner. My picks are alway before the fact. I never red board my picks. There is no shame in having a bad day and I've had many of them.
In fact, you can learn from losers as well as winners.
Let's see what happens.

All opinions and methods are always welcomed.

Race - 1 (1, 4)

Race - 2 (1, 7)

Race - 3 (8, 4)

Race - 4 (4, 1)

Race - 5 (3, 8)

Race - 6 (1, 5)

Race - 7 (6, 5)

Race - 8 (5, 1)

Race - 9 (8, 1)

Race - 10 (4, 11)

Race - 11 (8, 6)

Hello everyone:
Thought I would drop in and say it has been a long time since I logged on. Anyone playing southern California? Santa Anita in particular? I have a horse that is running in the 10th race that appears to be worth a Win/Place bet at morning line odds of 6-1 His name is Military Power (13 Post)
As always,

Tampa Bay Selections

Well 1st of all, its a lot of work to do a full race card and time consuming to get it done before the 1st race. So congratulations on getting that done.

My observationthat might be helpful:

In the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th, 10, 11th your selections had jockey trainer connections of "0" In the 3rd you hit the exacta for $4.70. the others ran out.

In the remaining races where your selection had J/T connections of 11% or better a runout in the 4th, place in the 5th, place in the 6th, runout in the 8th, place in the 11th.

If your program does not consider the J/T connections, you might want to take a look at this.

For my purposes a pre race check sheet has improved my plays dramatically.
Just a thought , we all have different styles. I like to consider these 5 things.

1. current earnings 2. distance /surface rankings 3. jockey/trainer %

4. horse/trainer % 5. trainer ranking .

Cheers, your own the right track

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your interest.

As I intially said, this was just an experiment and I was testing a piece of software on a race card that was by far one of the worst that I have seen.
This is not the way I normally would select races to play or handicap but I decided to see how the software would react to a dismal race card.
I am a one horse bettor but decided to use 2 horses today for testing purposes
Luckily, I didn't invest a dime on those races and wasted only 10 minutes of my time. The program which is a rather expensive one, failed as well as my experiment. This is the way I learn. The trial and error method.

I normally use MPH Version 1.4 and my own proprietary spreadsheets when I seriously analyze a card and pick only good races when and if I decide to place a bet or participate in a contest. I have a set method that I have and still use successfully.

Jeff (Shoeless) said he did not like the card and he was 100% right.

Jeff, I know you mean well but you're totally under a misconception.

The races I posted were just a test of some software I have. Very expensive software I might add.
Not a dime was bet.

My real play is totally "MPH Version 1.4 and the Brohammer concepts" and my proprietary spreadsheets. I use this in the contest and will use this in the national qualifiers and when I start to bet within the next 10 days.

In true fact, to the contrary, I am totally encouraged. So much so that I just funded my wagering account with $1000.00.
When in fact my check clears which should be within the next 8-10 days, I will show you and some others my progress.
