Fastest Pace

Hi Ted

I have been reading and hearing about looking
for horses that ran the fastest pace last race

What screen should I be looking at on RDSS to see this ?

Do you still plan on adding the long shot potential readout
to RDSS ?

Thank You
Bill

Bill,

You have to eyeball Fastest Pace Last Race (FPLR) for now. Or enter the last line for all horses and look at the Adjusted screen. In this example, Tandem #1 (the #2 and #5) is marginally faster than the last line for the #1 and #1A (equal, IMO). The #2 can clearly run against that pace, while the #3 has better closing energy. Last line analysis only.

I envision having multiple analysis views, for quick reference: a view based on last line, one based on best of last 3, user defined/selected - then toggle between them as/if needed.

This info should be easier to see, and an upcoming Summary screen will make it so. I will add in the Longshot potential. That too is related to an upcoming Pace of Race / Pace of Horse screen which was in the earliest RDSS version, but which went underground for a while.

Ted,

Will one have the ability to look at the fastest POR either adjusted or original in the final version?

Any chance of a comment line for each entry as we select for analysis? This was a big help in one of Doc's previous programs.

Also any chance of a toggle so that fractional times can be in 1/5 seconds or as the program is now in 1/10 seconds?

And while I'm wishing how about a big star by the winner so that I don't have to think! I will need this to pay the taxes that are coming down the road! (Just kidding).

Looking forward to your new tinkerings an to Saratoga!!

Bud

Bud,

Adjusted versus Original POR: Yes! You can do that now, too - just turn off Adjustments in the Configure window (except for distance equalization). Don't forget to turn adjustments back on. I know that process is a pain, though.

Comment Line: Yes, yes! (one of the most requested items )

Fractional times in 5ths: Yes!

Big Star: doesn't it loom off the screen for you??

It's not just that I enjoy saying 'Yes' - I really do plan these things, and some are implemented in a testing version. Sorry I can't say just now when the next release will be, but I do work (almost) every day on it.

Ted

looming

Thank You Ted

Your screen shot and reply will be a big help

Also talking about wish list, As we spoke about I hope your plans of
color coding - Red green and yellow 1st 2nd 3rd -highest speed ratings still will be coming

Sometimes the best speed rating of the last three don't loom up as well as they should a little helper would be great

Thank you so much

Bill

It's still on! I'll post the accumulated 'wish list' soon, for commentary, in the 'Coming Attractions' Topic.

Bob,

I fear Bud with his wish list, and I may have been leading you on, and the and smileys may have been a clue. Alas, the Big Star is analagous to Tomorrow's Charts Today, a consummation devoutly to be desired (as Doc might say). The Big Star is indeed invisible on the screen or paper (in any mode), and appears only in the mind of the analyst, stimulated by the dance of numbers on the screen. It can refer not only to a single winning horse, but a combination of horses which can constitute a profitable wager. It becomes clearer the more one practises (or apparently, with Scotch).

Here's to the Big Star!
