Speculator Question

Here is a Paceline from Speculator.
If we take a look at the first paceline, in the first section it says Equalized, Normalized and Adjusted.
The Fractions are 21.5, 44.8 and 110.3. Are the behind lengths in those numbers?
Compare them to the Original Paceline in the lower part of screen.
Same race, Same paceline the unadjusted fractions are
21.6, 44.9, and 110.5

Are those completely unadjusted without the behind lengths factored in?
I would think Val3 works the same way.

Anyone knwo the answer to this?

Charlie

No, the lengths behind are not included in the equalized/normalized/adjusted call times.

3 things happen to the call times on this screen, compared to the original paceline:

1. the daily track variant is applied

2. distances are equalized to today's race distance (not applicable to paceline #1, distances are both 6f)

3. in the case of extractions or projections, call times are modified to extract the sprint portion from a route, or project sprint call times to a route. Also, beaten lengths are adjusted.

These adjusted call times and beaten lengths, as the case may be, are then used to create fractional velocity calculations, which then are compounded to create all the rest of the factors.

Since #2 and #3 above do not apply to paceline #1, the difference in adjusted call times between Val and Spec must be in the method of application of the Daily Track Variant (or other Validator differences of which I'm not aware).

Hope this helps,

regards,

Ted
