Monmouth Survival At The Shore Contest - Day 19

Monmouth Survival At The Shore Contest - Day 19

Intially, this contest started with 6486 entries and as of today
only 2345 entries remain. With 2 months more remaining, I am over $200.00
short of the lead (money) and a ways to go in the (win) category.
The contest ends on Sept. 5th so I have time to either catch up or be eliminated. Right now My ranking is 1444
If you like marathons, this one is the cats meow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are my 3 picks for today.
I used PaceAppraiser for my contender selection and put them into MPH. Here's where I do a velocity match-up.

My horse didn't have a prayer in this 11th race.
If I don't get an in the money finish in the 12th I lose my life preserver and
will be in jeopardy. Then I have to play very tight.
Some days are just that tough.

It's a lot of fun, even though you get beaten up on occasion.
Some call it self inflicted torture.

Bill, I guess we have to hang in there. That's the bottom line,

25 Days And Just Hanging In There

Well, I survived another weekend in the Monmouth marathon. I'm playing naked, without a life preserver but made some adjustments to my pace line selection method which seems to be working very well.
I'm picking lots of short priced single pick winners with many place horses as well. The biggest problem that I'm finding is the ability to land on the pricey horse in some very tricky races. This past weekend I ended up with 5 winners out of 9 races with 3 place horses.

Good Skill

Good work Bill

I too am still am alive. As your screen shot shows the contest races have been pretty formful. Tough to get past the favoites in the win spot.
I got on a good roll for awile, and moved up in the standings
but my total winnings is still a very low $279.00

Oh well we are alive. Its down to 2001 surviors
My goal at this point is to make it to the Haskel

If I can do that I will be very happy.

This is by far the best I have ever done.
So that is a plus in my mind

GS to you

Bill, if you're still in it and survived 25 racing days then you're doing very well.
Nice job,

I gained on both the win and money categories. I'm sitting at $390.80 which is about $240.00 short. I'm 14 wins off the mark as well. I would really have to close hard in order to be there. There's about 7 weeks to go or close to 70 races more to handicap. I guess anything can happen in that time.
Contender selection is the key. Form cycle , pattern recognition and understanding the cycles are the key to picking the right pace line. Contender selection and identification is easy with software like MPH and PaceAppraiser.
