Skype Chat Room?

Do we have a chat room or anything like that? Maybe we could start one on here or in Skype?

Thumbs up

Moose,
I think that's a heck of a good idea, considering my kids set me up with a camera and Skype not long ago. Now I would have an excuse to use it besides yacking with them.

I'm pretty sure we don't, but I know a few people get together with one of two more to do races on a regular basis. The trouble with Skype is that only two people can talk for free. If there is more than two, one has to pay to get conference calls. I'm with a group of two others and we do that on a regular basis. I know there are others that do it too.

We had 1

We did have a chat room years ago but I discontinued it.

I guess the technology has improved today but even so ,,

The problem as I remember, was the chat room was really no different than
a regular forum,
All it was was posting comments and asking questions.
I always found posting in the selections forum better because it was easy
to add screen shots, and go back later and study.

I don't like to do races on skype. I find that too much information gets
lost in the conversations. People are going to be more polite on skype, which is wonderful
but I think people don't want to hurt others feelings by saying something live.
I find posting and answering questions gives both sides a chance to word their responses in the Pace and Cap way
I think posting races on Pace and Cap is better. So I ditched the chat room.

What wrong with being wrong?

If i make a mistake I want it shown. As everybody knows I have a small ego
and no fears of being told when I'm making mistakes
This is because I want to improve and I know the people here on pace and cap are the best.

Bill

To be honest i find Skype to be flaky at best, there are better avenues for chat like TeamViewer and Google Hangouts.

If you want to have a chat forum that you don't have to maintain yourself, just register an account on Google under Pace and Cap, or "Cravens Casual Encounters", and anyone can join in with an unlimited amount of people. It works very well compared to others that i have tried in the past, and you can't beat Google when it comes to servers.

A lot of whats being asked can be done by any member here, if you want to have a discussion with a member then you can use one of the following mentioned above. An online meeting works well with 3 or less people, when there's a pile of people it turns into chaos and confusion, and you start getting sub-conversations, it doesn't work out well.
