Normaly I wouldn't even have bet this race.
But after I got it down to three, I this morning placed a small $1 exact box figuring I might get back maybe $15 and left the book to come home to take care of much asked for honey do business.
Now I have to get one of the hangers on at the book to cash my ticket for me so I don't have to sign one of pesky IRS thingamajigs.

Marion Jones was with Pirco , retired U.S.Navy man from the San Francisco bay area and an early teacher in Doc's crew . He specilized in Turf races . He was always one of the high lights at earlier seminars.

Congratulations to everyone who got Da'Tara! I finally worked the race Saturday morning before I had to jump in the car and head to Toronto for the weekend (and a Leonard Cohen concert!) I saw no need to add to what Froggy posted - it was hard to get otherwise.

I figured BB for a mortal lock but remembered previous 'locks' and took a chance on a few exacta boxes. Naturally I caught the Belmont on TV before stepping out for the evening, and though I was sad to see the big guy lose, I was relieved he seemed healthy. The happy consolation prize were my exacta bets

Glad you found the time to do the Belmont. It was a very handsome payoff. Frankly, I got the win and place money on #6, as well as the nice exacta, but I missed the trifecta when I didn't use the #8 (never considered #9). It is interesting that the top 3 LPR (Val4 config) were 6-4-8.
I will admit that I had some concern about #6 because his last race was so much better than any of his previous efforts that it may have been an abberation, but at the odds who could resist.

That is what babies do: they often get good in a hurry once they figure out that apportioning speed is what the game is all about. and classics are won from the 2nd call home.
