You delivered the 2nd load of 7 boxes, then found a pretext for her to come out to your van and accompany you back upstairs again, chatting happily while you carried the final box.

Ted
I have to agree with Jim and Ted. You went 7/7/1.

And the for the last box you used the patented Binder-Head-Strap:

Red face

You decided you needed to make two trips, each with
4 boxes, and being the nice guy I am (Bill of course) you
offer to stack them neatly in her office. She says, your
so sweet, and I (Bill) was just a little . I asked if there was
anything else I could do, and she said you can take me to
dinner. The rest is for me to know and you to find out.
THE END.

You took the brochures from the 8th box and stuffed them all into the other 7.

xtb, that's a pretty good guess.

I say...

tried to pile all 8 on the hand truck. made it halfway up the stairs before the whole thing tipped over and went toppling down. Spent the next half hour picking up the brochures while the nice lady looked at me like, well, that was fun.

/ that's what I would have done

XTB thats is strange you said that
something similar happened while I was packing up in the morning

I had 15 binders. The box could only hold 14.
With 14 boxes the box was not full but the 15th binder was too fat
to fit
My friends Kate, Rual and I looked at each other and we had no other box big enough
and I didn't want to have 1 binder not protected in a box
I started to blow gaskets in my mind as I was late and had to get going.
I had an idea I went into my mind. Welcome to binderland
I took the box and used the bulid - a- box method

I took the 14 binders out of the box. Cut one side off the box, Slipped in the 15 binders
I took another box and did the same thing. I cut off 1 side.
Then I married the two half boxes together and taped the edges

[ box 1 + box 2 ] = [ big box ]

Joe and I made many deliveries for our dads printing and office supply
companys many years ago

We had some rough days but I smile when I think about them now.
I remember dads delivery van. It only had a drivers seat . You used to drive and I had to sit on the wheel well
Maybe I took the wish to be the one to drive a little to seriously
Hey Joe I bet your glad you don't have to make deliveries anymore

Did you hear this one

1) How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?
You open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe and close the door.
2) How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?
You open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door.

3) The Lion King is hosting an animal conference, all the animals attend, except one. Which animal does not attend?
The elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator.

4) There is a river you must cross. But it is filled with crocodiles. How do you manage it?
You swim across -- all the crocodiles are attending the animal conference.
